PNW Gluten-Free Homebrewing Competition

Ground Breaker Brewing is sponsoring and hosting the first PNW Gluten-Free Homebrewing Competition. Judging and the announcement of the winners will take place on Saturday, April 21 at the Ground Breaker Brewery & Gastropub.
All PNW Gluten-Free Homebrew competition entries must be homebrewed gluten-free beer. Entrants can not use professional equipment or other means provided by professional brewers and/or breweries. Entrants cannot use on-premise homebrewing facilities (Ex. Portland U-Brew, Let’s Brew, etc). Entrants cannot enter “gluten removed” or “gluten reduced” beers, only gluten-free beer made with naturally gluten-free ingredients. Beer submitted for the competition can be made on shared homebrewing equipment. A maximum of 60 entries will be accepted for the competition. An entrant can enter a maximum of two entries. New entries will be CLOSED after 60 entries have been submitted. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of registration.

Conditions of Entry
By entering you grant the exclusive rights to Ground Breaker Brewing to use and/or adjust the recipe submitted.
All homebrewers entering the 2018 PNW Gluten-Free Homebrew Competition will be required to send the following quantities of beer for each entry entered into the competition. Entries not meeting the below requirements may be disqualified.
Container Size & Appearance
- Hold 12 ounces of volume
- Flip tops and 22 ounce bottles are not acceptable
- Must be free of paint, paper, or ink other than the competition entry label
- Bottle caps must be neutral. No lettering, graphics, or decorations
Number of Bottles
For each entry, please submit three 12 ounce bottles. Entries must arrive at Ground Breaker Brewing no later than April 19, 2018.
Proper Entry Categories
At the time of registration entrants will select a category for their beer entry. The categories are:
- High/Dark (6.7+ ABV, 16+ SRM)
- High/Light (6.7+ ABV, 2-15 SRM)
- Low/Dark (Below 6.7 ABV, 16+ SRM)
- Low/Light (Below 6.7 ABV, 2-15 SRM
Labeling Your Entries
All participants must clearly label EVERY bottle of beer being sent with the following information:
- Entrant’s first and last name
- Name of beer
- Category (dark/high, light/low, etc)
The entrant awarded the grand prize will be invited to collaborate with Ground Breaker Head Brewer Tyler Kueber as well as Founder and Head of R&D James Neumeister to brew and release the winning entry under the Ground Breaker brand.
The entrant awarded the second place prize will be awarded a $150 gift certificate to Bob's Red Mill, a great source of gluten-free ingredients.
The entrant awarded the third place prize will be awarded a gluten-free homebrewing kit (approximately $75 value) from Gluten Free Home Brewing.
